About the LOUNGE
 
The International Lounge at Keimyung University is a state of the art space that offers a unique environment for students
and faculty alike by providing them with an atmosphere that many would otherwise have to travel abroad to find. The purpose of the lounge is to provide a place where visitors can practice their second language skills and make new friends at the same time. To meet that goal the lounge offers a wide range of resources including international films, music, books, board games, and a variety of social and cultural gatherings all aimed at providing visitors with a friendly, safe, and positive environment in which they are free to mingle and learn. In addition to the large variety of materials, there are different areas in the lounge where students can carry out language learning. There is an information desk, a computer zone, a multi-media zone, a resource zone, a cafe style zone, a traditional seating zone, an outside deck and a multi-purpose room, a kitchen and coffee/snack zone. The lounge is designed to enable students to learn at their own time and to develop language skills for the real world. Learning Advisors and other staff are on hand to help users and the lounge offers various modules and courses designed to promote learner autonomy.
